Some Garmin folks were in town for an information session at KSU tonight, and they took interns and new-hires for May out for dinner afterwards. After waiting for what seemed like forever (dinner was at 8:30, and I forgot to eat lunch), we were all ready to eat at 4 Olives. First, the food was excellent. More importantly though, I had a great time talking with RJ, Karen, and Ally (all interns-to-be) and Scott (the brave Garmin associate that came to the lone empty chair on our side of the table). I was also able to talk to Shelly face-to-face after we’d played a short game of “phone tag” today. It’s amazing how much more productive you can be in 30 seconds of interaction than in 10 minutes of leaving messages back and forth.
I also found out that I’ll probably be on the marine plotters team over the summer. Sweetness.
Though, I have to say that both the marine and auto equipment I got to look at was pretty sweet, and I think either position would have been great. It’s still nice knowing what the future has in store.
Two Garmin posts in a row. Either my life is boring, or Garmin rocks. I’m not willing to admit that my life is boring, so Garmin must rock. ![]()
