About

Here you'll find updates on big events in my life as well as photos, a calendar, and my resume.

I returned from the Ichthus men’s retreat a few hours ago, and I have to admit that it was one of the highlights of my college life (at least to this point). Going into this weekend I could count the number of people that I knew from Ichthus on one hand (it could have even been missing a pinky… maybe a thumb too :), but the amazing discussions facilitated by John and Luke’s messages left me with 20 brothers with whom I would be comfortable talking about struggles and joys that I encounter in my life. I may not remember everyone’s name (I’m absolutely dreadful with that), but I’d recognize each guy and the concerns of his heart.

I left the retreat thinking about my life, and the proper place for many activities that I currently participate in without as much as a second thought. It left me wondering why I consistently ignore how the Bible teaches me to live and, instead, indulge in feeding my flesh before giving any leftover time and energy to my Lord. It left me ashamed that, to this point, I have not left a mark on Kansas State University and played a role in bringing more people here to know Christ the way that they should — the way that they need to. It left me a more solid picture of what my goal in dating should be and how I should approach a relationship. It left me… sore from playing dodgeball and basketball all night. :)

As I think about the questions I have unanswered, I see an opportunity to earnestly seek God’s guidance in my life and discover what He has in store for me. Though I’m not 100% certain the direction that He would have for me, I do have a general idea of where I should be heading, and I’m confident that He will take care of the rest if I entrust it to Him.

This retreat couldn’t have come at a better time in my life, and I’m so glad that 2 guys talked me into going (even though one of them didn’t show up! :). And to think that I was so close to skipping it to drive to Hays and get my new phone…..

Thanks guys.
